WHAT IS THE BLEND?
The Blend is a healthy and nutritious way of incorporating more vegetables into your diet. By replacing a small portion of your meat with finely diced mushrooms, you are not only reducing your meat consumption, but your meals will have less fat, fewer calories and lower cholesterol than if they were prepared with meat alone.
ENHANCED FLAVOURS
With all these incredible health benefits, you’ll be pleased to know you lose none of the taste. The rich, umami flavour of mushrooms enhances the meaty flavours of your dishes giving them a real punch. If you liked your Bolognese before, wait until you try it with a mushroom boost. Mushrooms are so versatile they can be used in a range of tasty recipes.
Blend Recipes
BEEF KEEMA CURRY
Already packed with fresh vegetables, herbs and spices, this keema curry is not only made more delicious by adding mushrooms, but also benefits from reduced calories (14%), fat (21%) and cholesterol (40%).
Mushroom Blend Cannelloni
By replacing half of the mince in your usual Shepherd’s Pie with blended mushrooms, you will see the nutritional benefits dramatically increase. Folic Acid is increased by a huge 112% plus calories, fat and cholesterol are all reduced by over a quarter.
JOIN THE BLEND
There are two very simple ways to join the blend. Firstly, you could blitz your mushrooms in a food processor for 5-10 seconds, or until they are the consistency of mince. Alternatively, if you do not have a food processor, you can dice your mushrooms, stalks and all, with a very sharp knife to achieve the same result.
